Jessica DuffyAttorney

Jessica Duffy focuses her practice on probate administration and guardianship and conservatorship matters. She assists clients through the legal processes that arise during significant life transitions, providing thoughtful guidance and support.

Originally from Edison, New Jersey, Jessica earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and Political Science from the University of South Carolina in 2016. During her undergraduate studies, she interned at the Union County Superior Court in Elizabeth, New Jersey, where she confirmed her interest in pursuing a legal career.

Jessica remained in South Carolina to attend the Charleston School of Law. While in law school, she served as President of the Children’s Advocacy and Family Law Society and as Secretary of Phi Delta Phi, an international legal honor society. She was also an active member of the school’s social and community service committees, helping organize fundraisers for local organizations including the Lowcountry Food Bank, My Sister’s House, the South Carolina Special Olympics, and Charleston Hope.

Prior to joining the Law Office of Kathryn M. Cockrill, Jessica worked in firms focused on family law, criminal law, and civil litigation. She began working with the firm as a law clerk and, under the mentorship of Kathryn Cockrill, developed a strong interest in elder law. Jessica has been an attorney with the firm since her admission to the South Carolina Bar in 2020.

Jessica is a member of the South Carolina Bar and the Charleston County Bar Association. She also serves as a Charleston County Guardian ad Litem, advocating for abused and neglected children.

Outside of the office, Jessica enjoys traveling, attending live music events, watching football, and spending time with family and friends.
