Sydni Shaffer serves as a paralegal at the Law Office of Kathryn Cockrill, where she assists with probate, guardianship, and conservatorship matters. She works closely with the firm’s attorneys and clients to help guide families through the legal and administrative processes involved in estate and guardianship cases.

Originally from Estill, South Carolina, Sydni earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the College of Charleston. Although she did not initially plan to pursue a career in the legal field, she joined the firm as a part-time legal assistant in the summer of 2021. Under the mentorship of Kathryn Cockrill and Jessica Duffy, she developed a strong understanding of probate and estate planning and grew to appreciate the important role these services play for families during significant life transitions.

Outside of the office, Sydni remains active in Charleston’s arts community as a company member with Annex Dance Company, where she performs in concerts and participates in community engagement programming. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the Lowcountry and spending time with family, friends and her cat.
